M2 Screws
M2 screws wide range in stock, specials made to order
M2 screws are typically used in the manufacture of small items of electrical equipment, laptops, cameras and mobile phones. The “M” designation for metric screws indicates the outer diameter of the screw in millimetres, so for an M2 screw, the outer diameter is 2mm. However, in practice the actual diameter might be between 1.9mm-2mm due to manufacturing tolerances.
The standard pitch (distance between the threads) on an M2 is 0.4mm however we can offer non-standard pitches to order.
Each screw size is described using two numbers – the ‘M’ number and a number indicating the length of the shank, in mm, so M2 screw dimensions of M2 x 6mm, are 6mm long.
- Screws that are flat on the bottom of the head (non-countersunk) – Length is measured from the flat bottom of the head to the tip or blunt end of the screw
- Screws that are flat on the top of the head (countersunk) – Length is measured from the flat top of the head to the tip or blunt end of the screw.
- Screws with oval heads – These are the exception because there’s no flat side on the screw head. Therefore, the length of oval head screws is measured from the widest point of the head to the tip or blunt end of the screw.
M2 screws are available in a wide range of materials including steel, stainless steel, brass, nylon, aluminium and titanium as well as exotic materials including Duplex, Super Duplex and Inconel.
We stock a range of M2 screws with different specifications, head styles and sizes, as you can see below. We also make special sizes to order.
